Spring has sprung! If you are like me it couldn’t have come sooner. It was a dreary Winter here in Lawrence. However, the temperature is warming up, the days are a bit longer and we can spend more time enjoying nature.
One of the most asked questions my clients have is “Where should we have our photo session?” It’s a great question. Most clients don’t have a location in mind. Where we take the photos can help determine your outfit choices, what time we shoot and what time of year it is. My job, as your photographer, is to present you with a options and information so you can decide. So let’s take a look at some of my favorite locations for beautiful Spring photos.
The University Of Kansas Campus is the heart of our city. It is meticulously landscaped and in the Spring it comes to life with amazing Tulip beds and lovely blooming trees. It is a photographers dream and a perfect place for photos.
Our lovely downtown has some of the best photo locations in town. From historic buildings to beautiful parks you can always find the perfect backdrop. Two of my favorite places are the Japanese Friendship Garden and South Park which in the Spring are awash with colorful blooming Dogwoods and Magnolia trees.
Historic Train Depot
Beautiful flower beds, historic train depot and a cool sculpture are the features of this location. It is especially lovely during the Spring. There are many cool backdrops that are perfect for any photo sessions.
Prarie Park Nature Center
This location is right near my house and I spend a lot of time there. Big beautiful open fields filled with wildflowers, walking trails and a lake are all available for photos. It’s really beautiful in the “Golden Hour” when the sun is just about to set.
I will be hosting Spring Mini Sessions in April. If you want to be the first to know about these sessions send me an email!
This space is all about photography. Sessions, gear, my photo journeys and me living my best photog life.
