This young lady was such a treat to photograph. Rya is smart, precocious, and knows exactly what she wanted for her photos. Oh, did I mention she is five going on fifteen? We had so much fun picking accessories and poses. She is quite the budding model. She brought three outfits, sunglasses and countless hair accessories. Haha! It was super adorable.
We started in the Japanese Friendship Garden in beautiful downtown Lawrence which was built with our sister city, Hiratsuka, Japan. We walked around downtown and took some really awesome photos. I hope you enjoy these photos and would love to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment below
The City of Hiratsuka sent representatives to Lawrence to help design, plan and work on the project. A local committee of the Sister Cities Commission worked with Parks and Recreation Department staff to develop the garden. The City of Hiratsuka shipped two major pieces from Japan, a lantern and a 15′ stone tower to be displayed in the garden
This little friendship garden in is the perfect solace from city life. It was built to honor the relationship between Lawrence and Hiratsuka, Japan, a city that matches their attitude and way of life.
